The first one is known as the Lord's Prayer. Even a child can recite it.

The second one is something else altogether. It's been overlooked by a vast majority of believers in our modern world.

But unknown to most people, it is precisely the kind of prayer that brings results like this...

And this...

Please pay close attention as we jump right into Scripture… to set the tone for this second type of prayer that Jesus taught. 

In the Old Testament book of Numbers 20:7-8 we read: 

And the LORD spoke unto Moses, saying, 

Take the rod, and gather the assembly together, thou, and Aaron thy brother, and speak  unto the rock before their eyes; and it shall give forth his water, and you shall bring forth to them water out of the rock: so you shall give the congregation and their beasts drink.

                                                                             - Numbers 20:7-8

Here Moses was commanded to speak to the rock, an inanimate object.  

This instruction came from the LORD. 

Moving on to 1 Kings 13, we arrive at a strange situation: 

And, behold, there came a man of God out of Judah by the word of the LORD unto Bethel: and Jeroboam stood by the altar to burn incense. 

2 And he cried against the altar in the word of the LORD, and said, O altar, altar, thus saith the LORD; Behold, a child shall be born unto the house of David, Josiah by name; and upon thee shall he offer the priests of the high places that burn incense upon thee, and men's bones shall be burnt upon thee. 

3 And he gave a sign the same day, saying, This is the sign which the LORD hath spoken; Behold, the altar shall be rent, and the ashes that are upon it shall be poured out. 

4 And it came to pass, when king Jeroboam heard the saying of the man of God, which had cried against the altar in Bethel, that he put forth his hand from the altar, saying, Lay hold on him. And his hand, which he put forth against him, dried up, so that he could not pull it in again to him. 

5 The altar also was rent, and the ashes poured out from the altar, according to the sign which the man of God had given by the word of the LORD.

                                                                     - 1 Kings 13:1-5

 Here the LORD sent one of his special prophets to go speak against an altar (another inanimate object) that the people of Israel were using to worship idols.

We see here that God was more interested in that altar than in anything else (this is the subject of Lessons 3 and 4 of the Prayer Academy)… so HE went there to address it. 

Moving on… 

Enter JESUS in the New Testament book of Mark 11:12 – 14: 

12 And on the morrow, when they were come from Bethany, he was hungry: 

13 And seeing a fig tree afar off having leaves, he came, if haply he might find any thing thereon: and when he came to it, he found nothing but leaves; for the time of figs was not yet. 

14 And Jesus answered and said unto it, No man eat fruit of thee hereafter for ever. And his disciples heard it.

                                                                              - Mark 11:12-14

Another time, another place… we see Jesus speaking to a tree, another inanimate object.

Nothing seemed to happen immediately.
You would have expected that the tree would just dry up
as soon as Jesus said it.

No, not immediately.

But the following day…  something happened. 

Let’s pick up the story from verse 20: 

 And in the morning, as they passed by, they saw the fig tree dried up from the roots. 

21 And Peter calling to remembrance saith unto him, Master, behold, the fig tree which thou cursedst is withered away. 

22 And Jesus answering saith unto them, Have faith in God. 

23 For verily I say unto you, That whosoever shall say unto this mountain, Be thou removed, and be thou cast into the sea; and shall not doubt in his heart, but shall believe that those things which he saith shall come to pass; he shall have whatsoever he saith. 

24 Therefore I say unto you, What things soever ye desire, when ye pray, believe that ye receive them, and ye shall have them.

                                                                                      - Mark 11:20 - 24

Are you beginning to see a pattern here?

There is supernatural,
divine power available to…

... speak to unprofitable plantations and command them to die!

We have the power to curse cancer cells and command them to die.

Jesus said we can speak to mountains… meaning problems, sickness, hindrances.

Yes, you and I.  

           Listen.

           I’m not talking religious theory here.

As soon as they hear of me, they shall obey me: the strangers shall submit themselves unto me. The strangers shall fade away, and be afraid out of their close places.

                                                                                                          - Ps 18:44-45 

Who are the strangers?

When Jesus was on earth he spoke to fever, blindness, deafness, leprosy, storms, trees, every form of sickness… even death.

And they all obeyed!

Without a single exception…

Jesus could speak and say, “Be still”, “Be opened”, “Come forth”, “Arise and walk”, “Be thou removed”, “Depart from him!” 

Here’s a big secret: 

As far as the LORD is concerned… 

Your progress, your marriage, your breakthrough, your calling,
even the organs in your body… all have ears.

 
They can hear!

You only need to change your realm of prayer… to pray the kind of prayer that strangers can hear and obey.
